Organiser's Description
Members of Greater Rochester Running Club (formerly known as Greater Rochester Track Club) are invited to participate in the free, annual MILEStone Patch Challenge! Not a member? Sign up when prompted.
This is a pilot program designed to update and replace the traditional manual process of emailing someone at the end of the year with all the races you did. However, for those who need to do so, you'll have the option to email your results after the year ends.
About the Program
Patches are earned based on the number of miles run or walked at in-person races for the whole of each year, January 1st to December 31st. You may use the running portion of a multisport event. Virtual races, untimed fun walks/runs, and training miles do not count.
MILEStone Patch Levels
Patches are given out at the annual awards banquet that is usually at the end of February or beginning of March. Any not picked up are mailed after the banquet.
Bronze (50-99 miles)
Silver (100-199 miles)
Gold (200-299 miles)
Platinum (300+ miles)
How to Use This Challenge Tracker
Submitting Race Mileage
There are multiple ways to get to the page for logging activities. For brevity, we're not listing them all, but we'll describe two options.
Option 1: Manual entry as the year progresses.
First Time: Click Results in the challenge page's menu. Click the "Submit Virtual Results" button. (That's RunSignup's term; it doesn't mean submit virtual race times.) Search for yourself. Click on "Log Activities" under the "Event" name. Follow prompts on the resulting page to log activities (your races).
Subsequent Times: From the Results Page, click your name, click on "Log Activities."
Option 2: For those who want to use a spreadsheet, you can create a CSV file. It must include the following fields in the first row: Activity Date (yyyy/mm/dd), Activity Time (hhss), Activity Miles (up to two decimal places), and Comment. If you do it throughout the year, you'll need to either overwrite the previous entries in your file or create a new one when you want to upload it. Otherwise, you can wait until yearend to do it, but you won't be included in all the fun bits throughout the year, prior to the actual awarding of badges.
Other Things You Can Do
You can set your own goals on the "Log Activity" page. See your goal progress, track digital badges earned, and compare your progress with others' on your Individual Result page (click your name when looking at the Results page).
