Event summary
Join us for the Greening Up the Mountains Annual 5k on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 in Sylva, Jackson! The event, organized by the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department, kicks off at 8:00 AM with registration, followed by the race start at 9:00 AM and an awards ceremony at 10:00 AM at Mark Watson Park. The course, which begins at the park in downtown Sylva, crosses Business 23 onto Old Dillsboro Road, loops into Monteith Park, and returns on the same route. This relatively flat course features both paved and graveled road sections, making it accessible to all fitness levels. Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top 3 in each age group. Don't miss out on this opportunity to support the local community and enjoy a scenic run in the mountains! Remember, shirts are guaranteed to the first 150 registrants, so sign up early to secure yours.
