Get ready for an exhilarating challenge at the Habanero Hundred, Texas' hottest trail race, hosted by Trail Racing Over Texas! This incredible event takes place from August 21 to August 23, 2026, at the stunning 7IL Ranch in Cat Spring, Austin. With a variety of distances to choose from, including the thrilling 100-mile race, the Habanero Hundred is perfect for both seasoned ultra runners and those looking to tackle a shorter distance. New for 2026, we’re excited to introduce the Habanero 135, a grueling 135-mile race for experienced participants!
Starting at HIGH NOON on Friday, ultra runners will kick off the race in front of the Bellville Town Hall, while other distances such as the 10k, half marathon, and marathon will commence at the ranch. With a 30-hour cutoff, participants will have plenty of time to enjoy the scenic trails while striving for the coveted belt buckles awarded to 100-mile and 100-kilometer finishers. Texas' Hottest trail race, the Habanero Hundred was born from a summer long-run gone wrong (ask Race Director Cal) and is now one of the largest trail races in the state, held in August every year with options for many distances and the marquee event being the 100-mile distance.
The relay option will also allow you to run with a team, friends, or family to complete this monumental task.
In the first year of the event, we only had ONE finisher in the 100 Mile event, Julie Schmal! Ever since we have put our 100mi finishers' names printed on the back of the next year's shirt. Between 2015 and 2025 there have only been 198 finishes of the Habanero Hundred 100mi.
Are you up for the challenge? Maybe start with one of our shorter solo distances or join a team in the highly competitive relay events for either the 100km or 100mi distance relays.
The race is held at the beautiful 7IL ranch just outside of Bellville, Texas. The ranch has been open for more than five generations, and it was opened for public use in 1999. The facility is over 1,150 acres with water/electric and RV hookups as well.
The Habanero Hundred starts at HIGH NOON, and the 30-hour cutoff will end at 6:00 PM on Sunday. All runners will receive an event shirt, the race will be chip-timed with live tracking, and we will have free pictures for all runners. There will be belt buckles for 100M & 100K finishers, and medals for the 50k, Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, and Relay Teams.
Bellville Town Start: New for 2026, our ultra runners and leg one of the relay will start in front of the Bellville Town Hall at high noon and run the first 10km to the ranch. See the 2026 Information tab for details. Our 10k, 13.1, and 26.2 events still start at 7IL Ranch, also at Noon.
New for 2026... Announcing the Habanero 135! Because 100 miles was not enough for our veteran Habanero Hundred finishers. The Habanero 135 Mile starts Friday at 6 PM at 7IL Ranch (come and cheer them on!). Entry is not guaranteed and is reserved for experienced ultra runners. The 135 may not be used by those looking for extra time in the 100 Mile distance.

Each member will receive their own bib number. Pricing is structured with a lower cost per person for larger teams. Pacing is allowed in the 135M, 100M, and 100K events only. Runners may only have one (1) pacer with them at a time. Each pacer must register on RunSignup as a pacer (this will open in July), listing their runner, and wear a pacing bib received at packet pickup or the timing tent on race day. Included with the entry is the 7IL Ranch venue pass, course support (aid station access), emergency medical support, and pacer bib. Pacers must start and finish at the main start line and remain with their runner at all times unless under an emergency. Pacers are allowed to "mule" for their runners. 135M runners may have a pacer once they have completed 50 miles. 100M runners may have a pacer once they have completed eight (8) loops of the course (halfway / 50M). 100K runners may have a pacer after they have completed six (6) loops of the course (final four loops only). There is no pacing for any other solo event or relay teams. -
