Organiser's Description
Have you ever wanted to climb the equivalent of Everest on your bike or feet? Do you need a fun challenge to keep you motivated this January? Do you want to help provide bikes to those less fortunate than you? If your answer to any of these questions is "yes!" then our Everest Challenge is for you! The goal will be to bike/run/hike 29,029 feet during the month of January. Don't have a way to climb or log elevation gain? No problem! You can log 300 feet of elevation gain for every 15 minutes you ride or 300ft of elevation gain for every mile you run/hike. That means you'll still hit the goal if you ride for about 24 hours or run/hike about 97 miles. That's just 47min of riding or a 5k run/hike per day. You can do this indoors or outdoors on any bike/terrain you choose! You can also combine bike and run/hike miles!
We will have a group FB page and coached bike rides via zoom every Saturday at 9AM EST to work together and keep everyone on track to meet the goal. Your entry fee will include access to the FB page and coached cycling sessions and the chance to win weekly prizes from Hardcoeur Coaching and our sponsors (Sailfish, Rudy Project, Scratch, and Coeur Sports). All proceeds will be donated to the World Bicycle Fund. You can find out more about this amazing organization here [https://worldbicyclerelief.org/].
