For the younger participants, a Kids 1 Mile Fun Run will take place on a mostly flat incline, ensuring that everyone can join in the fun! Race proceeds will support vital non-profit organizations in the Honey Brook area, providing food and emergency services to those in need. Join the Honey Brook Community Partnership to experience a 5K like no other! Set in the heart of the Lanchester Landfill & Reclamation Center, where nature and sustainability meet. This unique course offers a scenic and challenging run or walk through gravel roads, wooded trails, grassy paths, and segments of the Lanchester Nature Trail.
Starting at the facility entrance (elevation 875 ft), runners and walkers will navigate a series of steady climbs and enjoy peaceful stretches through reclaimed landscapes. Two major hills define the course:
* First Climb: Elevation gain from 919 ft to 1,056 ft through wooded and grassy paths
* Final Ascent to Eastern Overlook: Elevation gain from 1,020 ft to 1,156 ft on gravel roads, leading to panoramic views of the surrounding valley
