HOOMPA Nickel 5 Miler Road Race, 5-Mile Walk, & 1 Mile Kids Fun Run

All proceeds of this race will benefit the Nahant American Legion Welfare Committee whose mission is to support veterans and families during illnesses or other special needs.
The 5-Mile Walk and the 1-Mile Kid Fun Run will start at 9:30AM
The 5 Miler race will start at 10:00AM
This breath-taking HOOMPA Nickel Road Race course flows along 5 miles of coastal beauty, with long stretches of mild uphills and downhills scattered throughout the coastal outline of Nahant, and with the exceptions, of the 2-mile-in HOOMPA Nickel Hill, a lactic acid burning sea creature that turns most legs into jellyfish and then the 4-mil in surprise that jolts you back to reality. For just as you were enjoying the oceanview of Swampscott off in the distance, you take a left from Marginal Road onto Ocean and see what must be the steepest hill in Nahant (you cannot even see the top as you start up this painful monster). Can you take it? Can you do it? Will you make it? Your reward for cresting this beast is the last mile downhill bodysurfing (or suffering?) to the historic Nahant Life Saving Station finish line. Rember this is 5-Miles, not 5k!

Post-Race PartyThere will be a post-race party hosted at the American Legion at the Nahant Life Saving Station. The post-party will begin immediately after the 5-mile race. 
ParkingParking is available at the Lifesaving Station during bib pick/registration on Friday evening (5-8pm). On Race Day parking is only in the designated Lowlands Parking lot across the street from the Lifesaving Station. There is absolutely no on-street parking in Nahant. Please follow the signs to the designate parking lot.
Registration and Packet Pick UpAvoid the delays and pick up your race numbers the evening before the race. Location: The American Legion at the Nahant Life Saving Station: 96 Nahant Road Nahant, MA 01908 Friday, September 18, 2023 from 6pm-8pm. 
DirectionsFrom Boston: 1A north to Nahant/Lynn rotary, bear right towards Nahant. NLSS is on left (big white building on the beach)
From all points West: to Lynn, MA follow route 129 to the ocean, proceed south to Nahant/Lynn rotary, bear right towards Nahant, NLSS is on left (big white building on the beach)
Parking is available onsite Friday evening and across the street on Race Day in the Low Lands Parking Lot. Awards to the top finishers in each age group
