Organiser's Description
Calling all cat lovers and runners! Join us for the I LOVE CATS 5K RUN/WALK & MEOWY MILE, a purr-fectly fun event celebrating our feline friends while getting active. Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or just love cats, this event is for you!
The event takes place on SUNDAY, MAY 4TH AT ITC COMMUNITY SPORTS PARK IN NORTHVILLE. The 5k run/walk (3.1 miles) will start at 9:30 with the Meowy Mile held right after at 10:30 am. There is plenty of parking at the park and a beautiful playground right near the start/finish. Restrooms on site.
PRICING: $30 until April 20th with a t-shirt guaranteed. $35 from 4/21 to 5/3 (limited shirts available), $40 race day.
DISCOUNTED PRICING FOR FAMILIES: We're encouraging families to participate together and are offering special pricing for you! Save $25 when registering 3 or more people from the same household.
VIRTUAL OPTION: You love cats, but can't join us in person, no worries. RUN WITH US VIRTUALLY. Sign up for our virtual event and run, walk, or stroll at your convenience. We'll mail you a shirt and medal. You must register by Sunday 4/20 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
COURSE: The start and finish is at the pavilion near the park at the corner of 8 mile and Napier. The 5k run/walk is an out and back on the paved ITC trail. All ages and abilities are welcome, you can run or walk at your own pace. The Meowy Mile is a shorter fun run for all ages - great for families and kids! Runners, Walkers, Strollers and Wagons all allowed. No bicycles, skateboard or rollerblades please.
SWAG: All participants receive a cat-themed race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and post race refreshments.
SUPPORT A CAUSE: A portion of the proceeds, and all donations, will benefit our local charity partner - Feral Kitty Trappers TNR, Inc. a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Run by volunteers and funded by donations. All funds are used for cats.
PACKET PICKUP: Will be held the morning of the event starting at 8:00 AM at the ITC Pavilion at the start/finish line.
AWARDS: The Overall Male & Female winner of the 5k run/walk will receive an amazing gift basket from our sponsor AVOCATO CATFE AND ADOPTION CENTER. [https://avocato.org/]
RESULTS will be texted to you once you cross the finish line. They will also be live at the event and on this website afterwards. The race is professionally timed by the MICHIGAN RUNNING FOUNDATION.
