Get ready for the ninth annual Illinois Homecoming Run, taking place on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, in the vibrant Champaign-Urbana area! This exciting event kicks off at 10:00 AM, rain or shine, inviting participants of all ages and abilities to run, jog, walk, or roll a scenic three-mile course from the east end of Anniversary Plaza to the Alice Campbell Alumni Center. After crossing the finish line, join in the celebration with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and lively entertainment from the Marching Illini and special guests, all while embracing the spirit of Homecoming Week!
Whether you're a student, staff member, faculty, alumni, or a dedicated Illini fan, this event is for you! For those unable to attend in person, a Virtual Homecoming Run option will be available throughout Homecoming Week, from September 21st to September 27th. Don't miss your chance to be part of this amazing celebration; register for the in-person race by September 5th to guarantee your race t-shirt! Mark your calendars for this unforgettable day and be part of the Illinois Homecoming Run festivities!

WELCOME TO THE NINTH ANNUAL ILLINOIS HOMECOMING RUN! Join us on SEPTEMBER 21ST AT 10:00 AM, RAIN OR SHINE, to run, jog, walk, or roll THREE MILES from the east end of Anniversary Plaza to the Alice Campbell Alumni Center. After finishing, we invite you to celebrate at the Alice Campbell Alumni Center with food, drinks, the Marching Illini, and other special guests to KICK OFF HOMECOMING WEEK! Students, staff, faculty, alumni, community members, Illini fans, and families are all welcomed!
We also have a Virtual Homecoming Run for those who can't make it to Champaign-Urbana for the in-person race! This will be open for the entire duration of Homecoming Week, September 21st through September 27th. It should be noted that shirts are not available for the virtual event.
Registration for the in-person race will be open from July 13th to 9:30 am on September 21st. To BE GUARANTEED A RACE T-SHIRT FOR THE IN-PERSON RACE, PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE 11:59 PM ON SEPTEMBER 5TH.

Step off for the race will be divided up into waves based on mile time, reducing congestion on the route. To be guaranteed a race t-shirt, please register as soon as possible! You can still kick off Homecoming week even if you can't join us in Champaign-Urbana! Wear your best orange and blue to run, walk, or roll the three miles! You will have all of Homecoming week to finish and submit your results. Registration will close at 11:59 pm on 9/27. It should be noted, you will not receive a shirt or a race bib and chip.
