This uplifting event honors the legacy of Kevin Peck, a dedicated athlete whose spirit continues to inspire runners today. Participants can take part in a spirited 5K Run/Walk, starting at 8:00 AM on Canal Street, with the route concluding at St. Helena Heritage Park.
This event not only promotes fitness and community but also supports the Kevin Peck Perseverance Award Scholarship, which recognizes the determination and growth of student-athletes at Northwest High School. Don't miss the chance to take the "First Step" towards honoring Kevin's memory and celebrating perseverance in athletics! Be sure to register before July 7, 2025, to ensure your desired T-shirt size, available from Small to 3X-Large. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in various age categories. Come run, walk, and make memories while supporting a great cause!

Organiser's Description
The Kevin Peck Memorial Run was established in honor of Kevin Peck, a 1998 graduate of Northwest High School who was tragically killed in December of 2011. Kevin was a state qualifying track and cross country runner. His untimely death was a tragedy to all who knew him. In his memory, the Kevin Peck Perseverance Award Scholarship was created.
Kevin often lamented that the hardest step of running was the first. He held the belief that hard work would pay off, and once he got going, eventually he would reach his goal if he kept working.
The Kevin Peck Perseverance Award is presented to a Northwest High School Cross Country or Distance Track senior athlete whose performance dramatically improved from their first season running through their last. This does not necessarily mean the fastest runner or MVP. It is the athlete who reflects the determination, focus and drive that Kevin had to persevere, and become the outstanding runner that he was. To help support this award and the Northwest Cross Country and Track & Field Programs, please take the "First Step" and join the run!
