AN ALL-CYCLING WEEKEND FOR ALL CYCLING LOVERS!
Experience breathtaking landscapes and Erie Countys abundant natural resources on safe and spectacular routes, while enjoying the type of community that can only be found at a cycling festival! Cyclists of all ages and abilities will participate in self-supported rides on routes that feature Eries vast terrain along sandy beaches and through old growth forests, across our vibrant downtown and our expansive grape-growing region.

    The Erie Downtown Partnership, in collaboration with Bike Erie, will kick off Lake Erie Cyclefest with their annual Downtown Slow Roll on Thursday, July 24! The family-friendly FREE bike ride will feature a 10-mile leisurely ride through the vibrant streets of downtown, showcasing points of interest along the way. Open to all ages, the ride begins and ends at Perry Square, where vendors will celebrate the event.

    Start times: 50-mile at 8:30 a.m. and 25-mile at 9:30 a.m. The Grape Escape Ride, hosted by Because You Care, will start and end at South Shore Winery in North East. Choose from 25 or 50 picturesque miles winding through grape country. Fresh lake breezes and the invigorating smell of grapes await you on this ride. Post-ride, toast your mornings successful ride with samples of wine from Lake Erie Wine Country and great food.

    Cyclists will have the opportunity to become one with the rising sun at Erie's most popular tourist destination, Presque Isle State Park, during the Presque Isle Sunrise Ride. The flat, 13-mile loop features water views on both sides and is one of the most spectacular routes in the region. The ride will be hosted at the end of Discover Presque Isle, a multi-day celebration that aims to draw attention to the Parks numerous recreational opportunities and diverse natural ecosystems. The Sunrise Ride will start at the Beach 1 Pavilion, and all registered cyclists will be given a voucher to the Discover PI Pancake Breakfast at the Rotary Pavilion. Participants are also invited to enjoy a special sunrise tour of the Presque Isle Lighthouse and climb the tower between 6-8 a.m., included with your registration!
