Addiction to alcohol and drugs and homelessness are at epidemic portions.
LOAVES AND FISHES OF BEAUFORT is a Beaufort-based, Christ-centered, residential, substance abuse recovery program. We provide counseling, shelter and treatment to men at no cost to them. We have just opened a Transition Home where men who have graduated from the six month program can stay 12 to 18 months while they work and learn more life skills that help them move back into the community. www.loavesandfishesnc.org [http://www.loavesandfishesnc.org]
VETERANS SERVICES OF THE CAROLINAS (VSC) supports our nations Veterans and their families by implementing essential assistance programs in communities across North Carolina. Through Housing, Employment, Outreach and Peer Support, Suicide Prevention, and Call Center Service Coordination. We collaborate with community partners and faith communities to engage with Veterans and their families to meet critical needs called Social Drivers of Health.. Through the HOPE/PATH Outreach program, VSC helps unhoused individuals attain the hope that recovery is possible and to get into addiction recovery programs such as Loaves and Fishes; help them find training and employment, income assistance, housing programs, and community mental health services. https://www.abccm-vsc.org/

Individual: $25 per person (by 11/1), $30 thereafter
Group/Team of four or more, $15 per person (savings until 11/1). $30 per person thereafter

Race Day packet pick up and awards ceremony will be at John Newton Park across Front Street from Clawsons Restaurant. There will be a breakfast for runners and walkers following the race at Ann Street United Methodist Church (417 Ann St, Beaufort).
Awards/Categories:
Top three overall male and female finishers
Top male and top female finishers for each age group will receive medals as follows: Ages 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
COURSE:
Beaufort has been voted the coolest small town in America" by Southern Living Magazine. The Race Course is down historic Front Street with its beautiful homes and the oft-seen wild banker ponies across the waterfront. Course certified USATF #NC19005BM.
Make this a family getaway. Go to Cape Lookout Lighthouse shell collecting. See dozens of ponies on Shackleford Island. Discover dolphins. Kayak islands and waterfront. Beach. Surf fish. Fort Macon.
