As a special treat for registrants, everyone who signs up by September 28 will receive a commemorative McKaig 10th Anniversary hoodie. For those looking to get involved without running, a $5 band will grant you access to the chili tasting and a chance to win tickets to a Union home game! With all proceeds supporting nature education programs and the preservation of the nearly 100-acre McKaig Nature Center, your participation makes a real difference. It's the 10th Anniversary of the McKaig 5K Trail Race! As always, get ready for a beautiful, fun-packed, Autumn morning at one of the region's most highly regarded 5k Trail Races, but this time, expect a little extra. We'll do everything in our power to make the most memorable event yet!
WHAT YOU'LL GET:
*New! A McKaig 10th Anniversary Hoodie for all registrants (if registered by 9/28)
*Festival area with music and post-race food & beverages, including..
*Free access to the chili cook-off where you can taste and vote for your favorites
*Professional chip timing and real time results by Bryn Mawr Racing Company.
Don't want to run or walk? Stop by the McKaig table and get a $5 band to be part of the chili tasting & judging, and pick up up a raffle ticket to win 4 tickets to a Union home game!
*The opportunity to fund raise and really make a difference for the park. Prizes for the largest Individual and Team Fundraisers plus free registrations for anyone raising $100 or more! To get started, simply click the "BECOME A FUNDRAISER" button at the top of the page.
As always, it's never the same course twice as you run the trails through these beautiful woods, across streams and up and down hills in this scenic but challenging race.
Returning for another season is the MONKEY ROCK MILER (leashed dogs welcome), as well as the FREE KIDS RACE-your choice of a 150 meter jaunt around the school yard for younger kids or a half mile race that includes a small section of the trail for older kids.
A reminder that 100% OF THE PROCEEDS GO TOWARD NATURE EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND THE MAINTENANCE AND PRESERVATION OF THIS NEARLY 100 ACRE OASIS, which survives solely on donations, memberships and proceeds from events like this one. Great race, great cause, great time!

McKaig will be hosting a chili cook-off in the race festival area! Tasting will be free to racers and $5 for non-racers. All who taste will have a vote, with the top 3 chefs receiving medals!
