Starting at the Big Red Barn in Hurricane City Park at 5:30 PM, participants will gather for introductions before embarking on a nature walk at 6:00 PM. Prepare to hike at least 2 miles as you delve into the wonders of foraging safely and sustainably. From nutritious leafy greens to delicious berries, West Virginia is truly "wild and wonderful." Don't miss your chance to gain valuable knowledge while enjoying the great outdoors! Please remember to wear comfortable hiking shoes and leave your pets at home for this adventure.

Have you wanted to learn about wild edibles and medicinal plants that can be found right in your very own woods? Well now you can with the help of a West Virginia Master Naturalist, Becky Linger.
Becky will take you through Meeks Mountain trails and teach you all about the medicinal plants and edibles growing in Hurricane's backyard.
Take a walk on the "wild" side and enjoy learning how to forage safely and sustainably. West Virginia is all about being wild and wonderful, and there are a lot of wild foods to eat. We have weeds, leafy greens, berries, and much more. Sign up and learn a little something!!
