Organiser's Description
Morris Hill is a long revered landmark in the Monticello community. Located just right outside of Downtown Monticello; the mountain looks down on runners who seldom conquer it by foot. In fact, cars have a hard time making it up this climb! With over 600 ft of elevation gain packed into this 1.22 mile climb...you are due for a fun (but challenging) time!
The race itself is held at Morris Hill Road, Monticello, KY, 42633. We will have available parking at Monticello Elementary, Colt Street, and Monticello Farmers Market. We will have volunteers guiding you to good parking; and then to the race start! There will also be directions of where to spectate the end of the race!
Whether you choose to run competitively, walk for fun, or skip up the hill with a friend, we have an awesome event planned for everyone! This is a point-to-point race from the bottom of the hill to the top. At the top of the hill, you will find water, and chocolate milk ready for you as you make your trip back down.
This event not only will honor an amazing landmark in our community...but honor the people of the community as well who have used this hill as a place to live, a place to train, and somewhere just to get a good overlook of beautiful Monticello. Whether you want to volunteer, run, walk, or spectate, we invite you to come enjoy this time with us!
