Get ready for an exhilarating month of fitness and feline fun at the sixth annual Nine Miles for Nine Lives Fitness Challenge! Taking place from August 1 to August 31, 2025, in the charming town of Lewisburg, Union, this event invites participants to walk, run, ride, or crawl a total of nine miles to support the wonderful cats of the Susquehanna Valley. Whether you tackle the distance in one go or break it into manageable chunks, your participation will make a difference for our furry friends.
This event not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also encourages community involvement, allowing friends and family to join in on the fun or support you through fundraising efforts. With exciting awards for top participants in various categories, including most miles run, biked, and walked, as well as prizes for top fundraisers, there's something for everyone. Plus, all participants will receive a fantastic swag bag filled with goodies, including a stylish t-shirt for those who register by August 6! Join us this August for a month of movement, camaraderie, and a chance to help our beloved cats. Let’s make every mile count!

We are so excited for our sixth annual Nine Miles for Nine Lives Fitness Challenge!
Walk, run, ride, or crawl a total of nine miles during the month of August to benefit cats in the Susquehanna Valley. You can cover the distance all at once, or break it into chunks. Encourage friends and family to join you, or ask them support Cherished Cats [http://www.cherishedcats.org], a 501(c)(3) non-profit, through your fundraising page. You can even link it directly to a official fundraiser on Facebook to make it easy! (when prompted, you will have to allow RunSignUp to manage Facebook fundraisers for that) Ask your friends and family to sponsor a mile or encourage you to go further or faster! HOWEVER YOU COVER THE DISTANCE, WE VERY MUCH APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT!
THERE'S LOTS OF FUN THROUGHOUT THE MONTH:
-AWARDS FOR TOP PARTICIPANTS IN EACH CATEGORY* AS WELL AS TOP FUNDRAISERS
-SURPRISES FOR A FEW RANDOMLY CHOSEN PARTICIPANTS
-ADDITIONAL GIFT FOR FUNDRAISERS WHO RAISE $25 OR MORE
All participants will receive a fun swag bag to be picked up at The Scratching Post in September, or shipped for an additional fee, including an awesome t-shirt (IF REGISTERED BY 8/6/25), and other nice goodies. NOTE: Swags bags will NOT be available prior to the event, but will be worth the wait! Bags not picked up at The Scratching Post by the end of September will be forfeited.
Be safe out there, have fun, and be sure to get some recovery time snuggling with your cats (best heating pads ever!).

-Two random participants who log at least 9 total miles
-Top two fundraisers
*The top finishers in each category will be determined by the total miles using that mode of exercise. Logged miles should be intentional exercise, not the total miles covered in a day. This is on your honor, but the cats are watching and you know they'll puke in your shoes!
