This exciting annual event will take place at Indiana State University's Memorial Stadium, with the race kicking off one mile north on Brown Blvd before culminating right by the stadium grounds. Participants can look forward to three heats: the first for females at 8 a.m., the second for males at 8:30 a.m., and a special heat for kids in the Running Program at 9 a.m.
Not only is The Mile a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself or cheer on loved ones, but it also supports a great cause – proceeds benefit the Lace it Up Kids Running Program of the Wabash Valley Road Runners. With awards for overall winners, age group distinctions, and walker categories, there’s plenty of motivation to give it your all. The Mile, presented by Pacesetter Sports, will be held on Saturday, July 4th at Indiana State Universitys Memorial Stadium.
The Mile takes place on July 4th every year. The race starts 1 mile north of the Stadium, on Brown Blvd and finishes by the Stadium grounds. Proceeds from the event fund the Lace it Up Kids Running Program of the Wabash Valley Road Runners. REGISTER BY SUNDAY, JUNE 28 AT 11:59PM TO RECEIVE A T-SHIRT!
Start Times:
1st heat: Females @ 8 a.m.
2nd heat: Males @ 8:30 a.m.
3rd heat: Kids Running Program @ 9 a.m.
Awards will be given; including overall awards, age group awards, and walker awards. Awards are based on 5-year age groups. The number of awards per age group will be determined based on the pre-registered numbers in each age group. Awards range from 1 to 3 per age group. There are also walker awards that are not age based. The number of walker awards will be based on the number of pre-registered walkers and will be awarded based on the first walker across the finish line and so on. IF YOU ARE SIGNED UP AS A WALKER, PLEASE DO NOT RUN! We have competitive walkers who work hard to win the race and it wouldnt be fair for a someone to run part of the race and beat out a competitive walker who walked the complete event.
