Get ready for an exhilarating day of fitness and fun at the 44th Annual Palmer Lake July 4th Fun Run! Scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, this exciting event takes place in the scenic Palmer Lake, El Paso, and features a delightful 4-mile course that runs from the south end of Palmer Lake to downtown Monument along the picturesque Santa Fe Trail. As you run, jog, walk, or skip, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Front Range, motivating signs, and a festive atmosphere that celebrates both our country’s 250th anniversary and our state’s 150th anniversary.
With a start time of 7 AM, participants can look forward to a slight downhill course that promises an enjoyable experience for everyone. Registration fees support the students and teachers at Palmer Lake Elementary, making this event not only a great way to stay active but also a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community. Don’t forget to pick up your race packet on July 2 or 3, or arrive early on race day! Join us for a morning filled with excitement, camaraderie, and celebration at the Palmer Lake July 4th Fun Run!

WELCOME TO THE 44TH ANNUAL JULY 4TH FUN RUN, PRESENTED BY BLACK HILLS ENERGYPALMER LAKE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS LARGEST AND LONGEST-RUNNING FUNDRAISER! SIGN UP EARLY FOR THE BEST PRICING AND SECURE YOUR SPOT AS WE CELEBRATE OUR COUNTRYS 250TH AND OUR STATES 150TH ANNIVERSARIES.
THE COURSE RUNS FROM THE SOUTH END OF PALMER LAKE TO MONUMENT VIA THE SANTA FE TRAIL. RUN, JOG, WALK, SKIP, OR PARADE ALONG THE ROUTE WHILE ENJOYING BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE FRONT RANGE, ENCOURAGING SIGNS AND AN ALL AROUND GOOD TIME. DID WE MENTION THE TRAIL IS A SLIGHT DOWNHILL, TOO?!? EACH REGISTRATION FEE GOES TOWARD SUPPORTING STUDENTS AND TEACHERS AT PALMER LAKE ELEMENTARY.

PACKET PICKUP
* Thursday July 2 from 4-6pm at The Colorado Running Company, 5262 N. Nevada Avenue, Ste 140 in Colorado Springs.
* Friday July 3 from 4-6pm at Routes Outfitter, 252 Front Street in Downtown Monument.
* RACE DAY, July 4 from 5:30-7am. New Location: Look for race volunteers at the pedestrian bridge in the parking area on the west side of the lake.
RACE COURSE
* The course is 4 miles, starting on the south end of Palmer Lake. Participants go around the lake once and continue south along the Santa Fe Trail. The finish line is just north of 3rd street in downtown Monument.
START TIME
The race will begin promptly at 7am on July 4th.
PARKING
* Parking will be on the west side of the lake in designated parking lots located of the north of the Pickleball courts. All race parking is accessible from HWY 105. Please use the bridge to cross over to the race course.
SHUTTLE / RETURN TO PALMER LAKE PARKING AREA
* Participants ride a bus back to the parking lots in Palmer Lake. Board the shuttle bus at Adams and 2nd Street. The last shuttle will leave Monument at 9am. Collapsible strollers allowed on busses.
