This heartfelt event honors the incredible spirit of Payton Lane Weatherwax Buckland, who bravely faced Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare cancer, with unwavering strength and a zest for life. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a memorable run or walk around the beautiful Kipp Lake, located just 11 miles east of Browning.
As we celebrate Payton's legacy, your involvement will help us establish a scholarship for exceptional children who, like Payton, dare to stand out and embrace life's adventures. Experience the joy and connection of this community event, which runs concurrently with Payton's Memorial Fishing Derby. Organiser's Description
This is a Cancer Awareness run/walk in honor of Payton Lane Weatherwax Buckland who was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma; a rare cancer in June of 2020. In November of 2022, his little body grew tired. His love for life and strength was unbelievable, while he was receiving chemo he went for a mile run with me, the next day he came home and said "Welp, Doc said I can't go for runs at this point in my treatments." that was a true testament of the strength he carried and his love for life. He didn't want to waste his life sitting, he was always on the go ready to face the new experiences life has to offer. He loved everything about the outdoors and would move to the mountains to live off the land if he could. His laughter was contagious, his love was endless and his faith was admirable.
Help us preserve his love and strength by participating in this run/walk year after year. We will use your support and participation to start a scholarship for kids who are overachievers and like to stand out as Payton did.
