Get ready for an exciting adventure at the Playmakers' Kids Run Club, taking place from August 31st to October 7th, 2026, at Nancy Moore Park in Haslett, Ingham! This vibrant event invites children in 3rd to 6th grades to engage in a fun and active experience as they explore the world of Cross Country running. With sessions scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays, participants will benefit from 12 training sessions led by certified Playmakers staff, who will provide expert coaching in Good Form Running.
Kids will gradually build their mileage up to a goal of 2 miles while learning essential running techniques and engaging in enjoyable games. This fall, not only will participants develop their running skills, but they will also have the chance to compete in local Cross Country races! Playmakers has once again partnered with Meridian Township Parks Department to offer this unique fitness opportunity for children in 3rd-6th grades.
Cross Country Club participants receive Good Form Running coaching from certified Playmakers staff during 12 training sessions with opportunities to compete in area Cross Country races (_NEW THIS FALL_)! Our goal is to promote fun, healthy, active lifestyles and introduce kids to the sport of Cross Country.
At each session, participants will learn proper dynamic warm-up techniques, Good Form Running practices, and play a fun game! Mileage will start low and gradually increase to a goal of 2 miles at the end of the program.
