Get ready for an exciting and active fall with the Playmakers Kids Run Club, taking place from August 31st to October 7th, 2026, in Haslett, Ingham! This fantastic program is designed for children in 3rd to 6th grades and will be hosted at the beautiful Nancy Moore Park every Monday and Wednesday. Participants will enjoy 12 engaging training sessions where they will learn Good Form Running techniques from certified coaches, ensuring they develop the skills to run efficiently and safely.
As part of the club, kids will have the chance to gradually build their endurance, culminating in a goal of running 2 miles by the end of the program. This year features a thrilling new element: opportunities to compete in local Cross Country races! Join us in promoting a fun, healthy, and active lifestyle while introducing your child to the wonderful world of Cross Country running. Playmakers has once again partnered with Meridian Township Parks Department to offer this unique fitness opportunity for children in 3rd-6th grades.
Cross Country Club participants receive Good Form Running coaching from certified Playmakers staff during 12 training sessions with opportunities to compete in area Cross Country races (_NEW THIS FALL_)! Our goal is to promote fun, healthy, active lifestyles and introduce kids to the sport of Cross Country.
At each session, participants will learn proper dynamic warm-up techniques, Good Form Running practices, and play a fun game! Mileage will start low and gradually increase to a goal of 2 miles at the end of the program.
