Join us for the Port 27 Father's Day 5K and 1-Year Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at beautiful Lake Hamilton in Polk! This exciting event is a perfect way to honor fathers while commemorating a year of community and connection at Port 27. The 5K run/walk features a challenging yet enjoyable out-and-back course that takes participants through the scenic landscapes of Lake Hamilton. Runners can expect a few uphills and downhills on the mostly exposed Kokomo Road route, so dress appropriately for the weather.
The race kicks off bright and early at 7 AM, with participants encouraged to arrive by 6 AM for packet pick-up. Each runner will receive a participation medal, and there will be awards for the top three finishers in both male and female categories. This event not only promotes fitness but also supports two meaningful causes: "The Summer Driven By Love" nonprofit, which advocates for adaptive sports inclusion, and the Lake Hamilton Woman's Club, empowering women in the community. Organiser's Description
Come join Port 27 in celebrating Fathers Day, and our 1year anniversary. We are hosting our first ever 5K run/walk in honor of Port 27 having its doors open for 1 year, and to give thanks to all the fathers. This course starts and ends at the Port 27 property, where you'll enjoy an out and back course through our beautiful Lake Hamilton. This 5k offers a tough, but fun course with slight uphills and downhills to really test those legs. The course is exposed, and very little shade, so please dress accordingly. There will be a water station half way through the course, but as always its better to be over prepared than under prepared.
The 5K will mostly be held on Kokomo road with some turns which themselves are out and backs as well. A map of the race will be uploaded soon for everyone.
Participation medals for every participant will be given. As well as top 3 awards for both Male and female participants.
Race day Schedule: Please plan to arrive for the 5K run by 6:00am

-Summer Driven By Love is a nonprofit organization founded by mother-daughter endurance duo Liz and Summer L'opez. Together, they compete in races and triathlons across the country to promote:
Adaptive sports inclusion
Community wellness
Safe driving awareness
Opportunities for individuals with disabilities
In 2016, Summer survived a tragic car accident at 18 years old, resulting in a severe traumatic brain injury. Before the accident, her dream was to race alongside her mother. While fighting for her life, Liz made her a promise no matter what, they would race together.
Today, Liz pulls Summer through the swim, tows her on the bike, and pushes her during the run in endurance events nationwide.
-The Port 27 5k will also benefit the Lake Hamilton Woman's Club. Empowering all the woman in our community and the surrounding areas to have a place of wanting and community. A club where your voice is always heard.
