THE ANNUAL WILDCAT PROWL FOR A PURPOSE HAS RETURNED! THIS FAMILY AND PET FRIENDLY RACE IS SPONSORED BY THE SPRINGFIELD HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY AND OFFERS A 5K RUN AS WELL AS A 1 MILE WALK THAT FINISHES ON THE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK. THE RACE BRINGS A LIVELY ATMOSPHERE FOR A GOOD CAUSE!
THIS YEAR'S RACE BENEFICIARY IS SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK IN SPRINGFIELD. THE SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK COLLECTS, STORES, AND DISTRIBUTES FOOD WITH ONE DRIVING BELIEF: OUR COMMUNITIES THRIVE WHEN HUNGER IS MINIMIZED. THEIR MISSION IS TO ALLEVIATE HUNGER IN CLARK AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES BY SOURCING AND DISTRIBUTING NUTRITIOUS FOOD TO PEOPLE IN NEED, BUILDING COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS, AND MOBILIZING THE PUBLIC TO SUPPORT HUNGER RELIEF. SECOND HARVEST ENVISIONS A THRIVING, EQUITABLE, FOOD-SECURE COMMUNITY. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE 5K EVENT WILL GO TO HELP SECOND HARVEST IN THEIR EFFORTS TO PROVIDE INDIVIDUALS WITH NUTRITIOUS FOOD WITHIN OUR SPRINGFIELD COMMUNITY.
