Organiser's Description
The Race for Rescue, Oahu Search and Rescues primary fund raising event, is a 5K run that has been held each year, in October. For 2024, the course will be held at OSAR's famous proving grounds, in the heart of Kamilo Nui Valley. Located just outside of Hawaii Kai, this stunning race course, winds it's way up into the valley and through dense forest, before looping back down hill to the start/finish line.
OSAR relies on this event to fund our organization for the next year, covering costs like insurance, technical rescue gear, and educational supplies. It's the support of our community that allows us to support our community!
This year there will be two different events:
* The RACE FOR RESCUE 5K will be held on October 26th at the OSAR Training Grounds in Hawaii Kai . Enjoy the amazing scenery while you run/walk a 5K out and back. Unlike previous years, the main race course is not stroller friendly. We will be offering a slightly shorter, more flat course as well for those who want to take on that challenge instead.
* The VIRTUAL 5K can be run any time during the race window (October 1st - October 26th), anywhere in the world. You simply run/walk 5k at the location and time of your choosing, and then upload your time to the race website.
