Join us for the 11th Annual Stomp Out Hunger 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in beautiful Kihei, Maui! This exciting event will kick off at 8 AM for the 5K and at 8:15 AM for the 1 Mile Walk, both starting and finishing at Hale Kau Kau, located at 25 W Lipoa Street. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to spend Halloween, this event promises to be a fantastic experience for everyone!

Participants can look forward to an uplifting day filled with friendly competition, as there will be age group awards for all ages, team categories, and even a special Corporate Team Challenge. Dress up in your best Halloween costume for a chance to win exciting prizes in our costume contest! After the race, enjoy a delicious sit-down breakfast, door prizes, and a celebration of community spirit. Funds raised will directly support Hale Kau Kau's mission to feed the hungry with compassion and aloha. Organiser's Description

ALOHA FRIENDS OF HALE KAU KAU,

* Hale Kau Kau delivers 115 meals to the homebound elderly and disabled each day and serves a hot meal to anyone who comes by the kitchen at dinner time, currently we are serving about 40-80 complete hot meals from the kitchen each evening; thus Hale Kau Kau prepares and delivers/serves over 150 meals every day of the year. . In order to continue to feed those who are hungry, we must rely on the generosity of our many supporters. Through our fundraisers, friends of Hale Kau Kau continue to donate and support our mission to feed the hungry with compassion and aloha.
* THIS YEAR WE ARE PLANNING TO HAVE OUR 11TH ANNUAL STOMP OUT HUNGER 5K & 1M WALK FUNDRAISER THE EVENT WILL BE ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 31TH . YES, AFTER 10 YEARS THE RACE FALLS ON HALLOWEEN! PLAN YOUR COSTUME NOW, WE WILL HAVE GREAT PRIZES FOR OUR COSTUME WINNERS BOTH INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY/TEAMS.
* ADDITIONALLY WE WILL HAVE TEAM CATEGORIES FOR MEN, WOMEN, YOUTH AND MIXED TEAMS ANY COMPANY OR BUSINESS CAN ENTER TEAMS FOR THIS AWARD. WE WILL HAVE A FIRST RESPONDER TEAM CHALLENGE. TEAMS ARE 4 PERSON AND EACH WINNING TEAM CATEGORY WILL RECEIVE THE COVETED "TEAM CHALLENGE BOWL" TEAMS MUST CALL DR MARY TO SIGN UP!

    Registration open to all Youth, adults and wheelchair and TEAMS. FEES: Early Bird Registration $30 until September 1. Discount for youth --under15 and Seniors over 65 - $20 until September 1. From September 2nd to October 30th $40 and $25 for youth under 15 and Seniors over 65. TEAMS: $150 (4 PERSON) must preregister by email to Dr Mary -mary.trotto@liu.edu DAY OF RACE REGISTRATION: $50 FOR ALL! Shirts to all pre registered and to all post registered as supply lasts. You can decide how many meals you would like to purchase. The fundraising program is called "FUND A MEAL" You can "fund a meal" at any time - during registration, at the race or after the race.     Fee for Walk is $30 small children under 5 are free with an adult. Walk is timed and there are awards to the top 3 walkers. Children are welcomed to run the mile, special prize for all children who compete in the event. Adults can also run the mile instead of walking. All proceeds go to Hale Kau Kau - we feed the hungry on Maui. We prepare and deliver hot nutritious food to the homebound elderly and disabled and we serve the same hot nutritious meal to those who come to the kitchen including the poor and the homeless. We are a volunteer driven non-profit organization. Please consider making an additional donation - each meal we serve cost approximately $10 (includes food, utilities, packaging to serve or deliver the food, cooks salary) if you donate $50 that will provide 5 meals; if you donate $1150 that will provide one day's meals for the homebound elderly.
