Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the 29th Annual Race for the Future 5K Run/Walk, taking place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, in the vibrant city of Lee's Summit, Jackson! This exciting event not only promotes health and fitness but also supports a great cause, benefiting the Lee's Summit Educational Foundation. The 5K race kicks off at 8:00 a.m. from the Lee's Summit West Activity Complex, and participants can arrive and register between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.
Join fellow runners and walkers as you traverse the scenic 5K course, and don’t forget the kids! The Kids Dash, designed for children up to 6th grade, will follow the main race, allowing your little ones to experience the joy of running with their peers. The top three LSR7 schools with the highest participation will even have a chance to win grants of up to $1,000! Secure your spot by registering before September 28 to receive a special event T-shirt. Whether you choose to run, walk, or support virtually, this is an event you won't want to miss!

KIDS DASH FOR CHILDREN UP TO 6TH GRADE BEGINS ON THE TRACK AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE 5K RUN/WALK (TYPICALLY BETWEEN 8:30 AND 9 A.M.). CHILDREN WILL RUN IN GROUPS WITH LIKE-AGED KIDS. THE OLDEST CHILDREN WILL RUN APPROXIMATELY 200 METERS (HALF LAP). THE YOUNGEST CHILDREN WILL RUN APPROXIMATELY 50 METERS.

Kids Dash for children up to 6th grade begins on the track at the conclusion of the 5K Run/Walk (typically between 8:45 and 9 a.m.). Children will run in groups with like-age kids. The oldest children will run approximately 200 meters (half lap). The youngest children will run approximately 50 meters. All participants will receive a participation ribbon.
