This beloved community event invites runners of all ages to take part in a mixed trail course that winds through Michigan's scenic dirt roads, paved paths, and the vibrant streets of downtown Pinckney. Participants can choose to challenge themselves in the 5K race or let the little ones enjoy a 1/4 mile Kids Fun Run around Townsquare Park.
With a fantastic turnout of over 375 runners and their supportive families, this year's event promises to be even more special as it supports the development of a new playground at Light of the World Academy. The day kicks off with an opening ceremony featuring the National Anthem, followed by the 5K race at 10 AM and the Kids Fun Run starting at 11 AM. THE 14TH ANNUAL RUN FOR THE GOLD 5K & KIDS FUN RUN IS PRESENTED BY MUGG & BOPPS [https://muggandbopps.com/]!
Runners, lace up your lucky shoes for this much-loved race in Livingston County! Light of the World Academy [https://www.lightoftheworldacademy.org/]'s Run for the Gold 5K is a mixed trail course of Michigan country dirt roads, paved trail, and the streets of downtown Pinckney. The Kids Fun Run is a 1/4 mile (two laps around Townsquare Park).
This race truly supports our community's youth! 47% of our 5k runners are under 18, and we have had around 375+ runners with their cheering families filling downtown Pinckney. The Kid's Fun Run hosts an additional 60-80 kids, and the Pinckney St. Patrick's Day parade starts right after.
This year's race benefits Phase 2 of the NEW PLAYGROUND at Light of the World Academy in Pinckney.

On the day of the race, stop in at PCYDI's Red House in the park to get your t-shirt or register to run, then head to the 5K start line.
_Light of the World Academy's_ PE Teacher, Mr. L, and the _Way of Life Martial Arts_ demo team will get the kids warmed up for their lucky run around the park! Kids Run begins at 11 am.
