Due to popular interest and the opportunity to support our community hospital and Evergreen Living Center where ever you may be, Mackinac Straits Health Foundation is again offering an in-person AND a virtual run/walk for 2023. 
Those who love being able to participate with fellow runners and walkers can do so at our regular location on the campus of Mackinac Straits Health System in St. Ignace, MI.  For those who would prefer to participate virtually can do so from any location. It could be your backyard, a nearby trail, on your treadmill inside your home, or even from another state!  
You can now sign up for a 10-K Run, or the 5-K Run or Walk. We guarantee a specially designed t-shirt or tank top and a cool medal to tall those registered by Monday, July 24!  To those who wish to have their commemorative top and medal shipped, we DO NOT ship to Canada. 
Online registration for IN-PERSON ONLY will end at 5:00pm on August 8, 2023.  If you would still like to participate in-person, the registration tent will open at 8am on race day, August 12, 2023. 
Virtual participants are being asked to complete their event between Sunday, July 23, and 11:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20, and then post results on our St. Ignace Run for the Health of It Facebook page, as well as all your social media profiles and hashtag #stignacerunforthehealthofit. 
We have custom awards for our overall male and female finisher for each race handcrafted by our local LaSalle High School Woodshop class. Handmade awards will also be presented for each race in age categories: 10 and under; 11-18; 19-34; 35-49; 50-64; 65+.

All proceeds from the 2023 Run for the Health of It will be used benefit Mackinac Straits Health System and Evergreen Living Center.
The 5K and 10K races will begin at Mackinac Straits Health System in St. Ignace at approx. 9:15. Both courses will loop out to North State Street before running N. Airport Rd past the airport and up a small hill to S. Airport Rd. All runners will run downhill on S. Airport Rd, where 5K runners will run back toward the hospital on N. State St. and loop around the hospital/Evergreen Living Center to the finish line. 10K runners will turn right on N. State St. from S. Airport Rd. and run to Reagon St and then on to Lemotte St, which will turn into Cheeseman Rd. Runners will turn around at Cheeseman a little over a mile out and return back to the hospital to complete the loop around hospital/Evergreen to the finish line. We will have standing signs, painted signs on road, and volunteers strategically placed throughout the courses.
