Join us for the Run (or Walk) Like a Cheetah 5K fundraiser and help protect cheetahs through supporting the Cheetah Conservation Fund! The 5K will take place May 2, 2026, at Washington Park in Laramie, WY. Can't attend? No problemyou can participate in the virtual race!
All the proceeds from this fundraising event, hosted by University of Wyoming Communication and Journalism students, will support the work of protecting the remaining 7,000 cheetahs in the wild.
Founded by Dr. Laurie Marker in 1990, the Cheetah Conservation Fund uses education and research to better understand cheetahs and combat threats causing population decline. A group of UW students will spend two weeks in May at its main research center in Namibia, Africa, to help Dr. Marker and her team as they rehabilitate, protect and study cheetahs to educate a global audience.
