Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the 2nd Annual "Running For Africa 2024" event, taking place on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, at the scenic Jack Allen Soccer Complex in Decatur, Morgan County, Alabama. This exciting race day features a variety of distances to suit all levels of runners and walkers, including a 7K, 5K, and a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. The event kicks off bright and early, with the 5K starting at 7:30 AM, followed by the 7K at 8:15 AM, and the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk at 9:00 AM.

All proceeds from this event will benefit Archangel Group International, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lives in Zambia through quality-of-life projects. Please join us for the 2nd Annual "Running for Africa 2024" presented by Hyundai of Decatur. We will be hosting a 7K, 5K, and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk.
The event will be held at Jack Allen Soccer Complex on December 7th, 2024, located at 2616 Modaus Road SW Decatur, Alabama 35603.
The gates will open at 6:30AM for late registrations. All of the proceeds will go to our organization, Archangel Group International a Non-Profit Corporation which is a 501 C (3). The organization was founded by Jonathan Macklin, a police officer for the City of Decatur. All of the proceeds for the race will go towards quality-of-life projects in Zambia. "Archangel Group International exists to restore families by combating poverty and human trafficking in Africa. The resources we provide will empower communities to come together and be self-sustaining for years to come. The law enforcement training we provide will bring needed skills and leadership to the local police, in order to better serve and protect their citizens."
Early registration ends November 17th, 2024, at 12:00AM. Everyone that registers early for the 7K, 5K, or 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk gets a free shirt and swag bag.
Registration for the 7K and 5K will be $30.00. The 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk will be $25.00. If you would like to run in both the 5K and 7K, the price will be $40.00.
Packet pickup will be on December 6th, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm at Cross-Eyed Owl Brewing Company located at 105 1st Avenue NE Decatur, Alabama 35601. You will also be able to pick up your packet the morning of the race, Saturday morning from 6:00AM-7:30AM at Jack Allen Soccer Complex.
The races will start as follows. 5K-7:30AM, 7K-8:15AM, 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk-9:00AM
