Join us for the Running Scared 5K on October 5th at 7:00 PM at Estero Community Park to support the Florida Special Olympics! Lace up your running shoes for a thrilling race and a great cause. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking to have fun, this race is open to all. Be sure to read the paragraph below because this is not your ordinary 5K, this is the Pumpkin Challenge!



ARE YOU READY TO PUT YOUR STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE TO THE TEST? IN THE PUMPKIN CHALLENGE, NOT ONLY WILL YOU BE RUNNING THE COURSE, BUT YOULL ALSO HAVE TO CARRY A PUMPKIN THE ENTIRE WAY! HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

AT THE START OF THE RACE, YOULL HAVE THE OPTION TO CHOOSE FROM A RANGE OF PUMPKIN SIZES LOCATED AT DIFFERENT POINTS ALONG THE COURSE. THE SMALLER PUMPKINS, AVAILABLE NEAR THE START, WILL NEED TO BE CARRIED FOR THE LONGEST DISTANCE. AS YOU PROGRESS THROUGH THE COURSE, THE PUMPKINS WILL GET BIGGER. THE LARGEST PUMPKINS, STATIONED NEAR THE FINISH LINE, WILL REQUIRE LESS DISTANCE BUT WILL BE MUCH HEAVIER.

SO, PICK YOUR POISON: WILL YOU CARRY A SMALL PUMPKIN FOR THE ENTIRE RACE OR TACKLE THE BIG ONE FOR JUST A SHORT DISTANCE? OR MAYBE YOU'LL CHOOSE SOMETHING IN BETWEEN FOR THE PERFECT BALANCE OF WEIGHT AND ENDURANCE!

AND DON'T FORGET YOU PUMPKIN WHEN YOU LEAVE, ITS YOUR TO KEEP AS YOU GET READY FOR FALL.



Show up early because you dont want to miss out on the Lee County Sheriff's Office "Touch-a-Truck" event, where you can explore heavy equipment, meet their robot dog, and check out police cruisers and much more! Plus, enjoy free ice cream and get up close with some of the coolest assets from the sheriff's office.



All proceeds from the event will go to the Florida Special Olympics, helping support athletes with disabilities. So, bring your friends, family, and community spirit for a evening filled with fun, fitness, and giving back!

Overall Male and Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Age Groups:

(Age group awards are based on net chip time. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place Male and Female will be awarded)

0 to 10 | 11 to 19 | 20 to 29 | 30 to 39 | 40 to 49 | 50 to 59 | 60 to 69 | 70 plus

All participants will receive a Running Scared t-shirt and a finishers medal.





Packet Pickup will be at on Saturday October 5th at 6:00pm.
