Join us for an exciting day of community spirit and friendly competition at the "Running the Shores" event on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in beautiful Cleveland, Cuyahoga. This second annual 5K Run/Walk, organized by the Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Erie Shores Chapter, will benefit the Jack and Jill of America Foundation and the American Sickle Cell Anemia Association (ASCAA).
Racers will kick off the event at 9:00 AM from Edgewater Park, with both a chip-timed 5K run and an untimed 1-mile walk available for participants of all ages. Registration opens at 8:00 AM, so arrive early to check in and grab your race packet, which includes a t-shirt for those who register by September 1. Enjoy refreshments at the finish line and take part in honoring the legacy of Dr. Edgar Jackson, a pioneer in sickle cell research. Whether you’re running solo or as part of a team, this event promises to be a fantastic day filled with fun, fitness, and philanthropy. ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH, THE JACK AND JILL OF AMERICA, INC. ERIE SHORES CHAPTER WILL BE RUNNING THE SHORES IN OUR SECOND ANNUAL 5K RUN/WALK, BENEFITTING THE JACK AND JILL OF AMERICA FOUNDATION AND AMERICAN SICKLE CELL ANEMIA ASSOCIATION (ASCAA). WE INVITE FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND THE COMMUNITY TO TAKE THE PLUNGE WITH US FOR A DAY OF FRIENDLY COMPETITION FOR A CAUSE. THE AMERICAN SICKLE CELL ANEMIA ASSOCIATION WILL ALSO BE ON SITE PROVIDING INFORMATION AND FREE SICKLE CELL TRAIT TESTING. CHECK-IN AND ONSITE REGISTRATION WILL OPEN AT 8:00 AM, FOLLOWED BY RECOGNITION OF THE SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS, AND A SPECIAL PRESENTATION HONORING THE LATE DR. EDGAR JACKSON, PIONEER OF SICKLE CELL RESEARCH. RACERS WILL SET SAILS AT 9:00 AM FROM EDGEWATER PARK, WHERE BOTH INDIVIDUALS AND TEAMS ARE WELCOME.
