Get ready to lace up your running shoes and experience the beauty of the Russell Forest at the Russell Forest Run on Saturday, February 22, 2025! Held in the scenic Alexander City, Tallapoosa, this exciting event features two race distances: a thrilling 10K and a fun-filled 5K. Runners will embark on a certified course that winds through beautiful sand, clay, and gravel roads, designed for both runners and cyclists. The race begins at the picturesque Russell Crossroads, with the 10K kicking off at 7:45 am, followed by the 5K shortly after, both starting with an energetic machine gun blast to get your adrenaline pumping!
After crossing the finish line near The Stables, participants will be greeted with a lively post-race party, featuring the famous Grits Bar, live music, and a fantastic community atmosphere. Don't forget to pick up your race packet at The Discovery Center on February 21st and 22nd. Please note that pets are not allowed on the course to ensure the safety of all participants. Join us for a memorable day of running, fun, and camaraderie at the Russell Forest Run!

LET'S RUN THROUGH THE RUSSELL FOREST!!
The Russell Forest Run is a race that carries runners on a certified course over sand, clay, and gravel roads that were designed for runners, bicycles, and electric cars. The scenic route will still start at Russell Crossroads, and will still take runners near Kobs Knob, up to Heaven, and back to the finish line near The Stables at Russell Crossroads. The 10K will start promptly at 7:45am with a machine gun blast from the Town Green at Russell Crossroads. The 5K, also an out and back, begins at the Town Green and will start with the machine gun blast soon after 10K. Of course the finish line is near The Stables, the home of our post-race party, where you'll find our World Famous Grits Bar, live music and more! Packet Pickup for both runs is Friday, February 21st and Saturday, February 22nd at The Discovery Center in Russell Crossroads. Please follow the registration signs. Please be aware that there are no pets allowed on the course during the Russell Forest Run. The Russell Forest Run 10K course map can be seen on the RFR website: http://russellforestrun.com/ The Russell Forest Run 10K is an out and back "chip timed" run. There is plenty of parking on-site and a shuttle may be available for those who may need it. Please allow yourself plenty of time to get to the site. The 10K will begin PROMPTLY at 7:45am! Packet Pickup will be Friday, February 21 from 4-6pm and Saturday, February 22 from 6am to 7am in the Discovery Center at Russell Crossroads! -
