Kick off the series with the inaugural run on the brand-new trails located on the Republic Services-Five Valleys Land Trust conservation easement in the North Hills on September 16th. Participants will be guided by Run Wild Missoula while learning from a representative of the Five Valleys Land Trust, making for an enriching experience that combines fitness with fascinating insights. If you can’t join the first run, don’t worry! More runs are scheduled across different locations in Missoula throughout October and January. Join us for this incredible opportunity to enjoy the trails while connecting with nature and community! Remember, a Run Wild Missoula membership is required for participation.

Your favorite trails and open spaces didn't just happen by accident. Join Run Wild Missoula and Five Valleys Land Trust for a unique trail run series: Tales from the Trails.

Learn the story, history (and maybe even a few secrets) about how some of your favorite Missoula trails and open spaces came to be from a FVLT representative while guided on a RWM-led group trail run.

The first run will take place on the NEW trails on the Republic Services-Five Valleys Land Trust conservation easement in the North Hills on Sept 16th! Can't make it? No worries! More runs at other locations around Missoula will be coming in October and January!

    Details: Start Location: Bluebird Preserve TH Distance: ~4 miles Run Wild Missoula Membership required for participation. Join Run Wild Missoula and Five Valleys Land Trust for the very first Tales from the Trails run! Well explore the brand new trails on the Republic ServicesFive Valleys Land Trust Conservation Easement in the North Hillsbuilt in part by amazing Run Wild Missoula volunteers. As we meander through the Bluebird Preserve and onto these new paths (aka the Hoot Owl Loop!), well pause along the way to hear the story behind the land: how it came to be protected, what it means for public access, and why open spaces like this matter to Missoula.

    City to Sky course preview, anyone? Join Run Wild Missoula and Five Valleys Land Trust on a tour of the beloved House of Sky trail to learn more about the Mount Dean Stone Community Forest and its incredible conservation story! The 5.3 mile trail run will start and end at the House of Sky Trailhead, but we strongly encourage participants to join our carpool from Dornblaser Track & Field to reduce trailhead congestion.
