Get ready for a festive and fun-filled day at Santa's Run Fest - A Run for Our Kids, organized by the Winter Haven Optimist Club on December 14, 2024, in Winter Haven, Polk. Lace up your running shoes and choose between a 10k or 5k race while the kids can participate in the Kid Dashes. The picturesque city of Winter Haven, with its stunning lakes and beautiful sunrises and sunsets, provides the perfect backdrop for this event. The race courses will take you through the Chain of Lakes Trail and around Lake Silver, offering a mix of gentle rises for both advanced and beginner runners. Participants will receive a custom shirt, bib, and finisher medal, along with goodies from race sponsors. Don't miss the chance to join or create a team to compete for the Largest or Fastest team in various categories. Early race packet pickup is available on December 13, while race day registration starts at 6:00 am on December 14. Come join the fun and spread holiday cheer at Santa's Run Fest!
Organiser's Description
Winter Haven Optimist Club proudly presents the Santa's Run Fest - A Run for Our Kids. Choose a 10k or 5k and sign then kids up for the Kid Dashes!
Winter Haven is a beautiful city of approximately 35,000 friendly folks. As the Chamber of Commerce mentions, "To some we're the perfect haven from the harsh winter months up North, and to others we are the opportunity to be involved in a town with over 55 lakes to enjoy with fantastic sunrises and sunsets over the water" ...AND an absolutely superb terrain for running.
This years 10k and 5k Course will run the Chain of Lakes Trail with a small trip around Lake Silver. The courses include gentle rises, enough to cause pressure for the advanced competitors but not so much to frustrate the average person.
Runners will receive a custom shirt (Shirts and sizes are guaranteed if pre-registered before November 25, 2024, after this date, shirts will be available while supplies last.), a custom bib, and a finisher medal when you cross the line on race day! Race packets will also include goodies from race sponsors.
Runners may optionally create and join teams to compete for the Largest team and to compete against each other in the 5k race for the Fastest team in one of three categories: 1. Family Team; 2. Corporate Team; 3. Social/Church/School Team
There are 2 trophies in each category: Largest Team (by number of runners who compete) and Fastest Team (by the top 3 finishing times on the team - 5K only).
