Organiser's Description
The Schenck Forest trail race is a unique challenge in Raleigh's hidden gem of trails. This is 6.2mile trail race that consist mainly of single track trail through the creeks and hills of Scheck Forest adjacent to Umstead Park. The course will wind throughout the forest crossing streams, bridges, and along the sandy banks of Richland Creek. This race is hosted by local event company FreyHealth24 and proceeds of this race will benefit Haven House of Raleigh, NC. We also host other local endurance events including the MST Endurance Races and Oakwood 24.
The Carl Alwin Schenck Memorial Forest is a 245 acre forest located in western Wake County about 10 minutes from the NC State campus. It is managed by N.C. State as a teaching and research forest to demonstrate the multiple benefits generated by an actively-managed forest.
