Join us for the Scouting America Troop 597 Remembrance Run/Walk on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Douglassville, Berks. This uplifting event is designed to bring the community together in honor of our brave service members who have fallen, continue to fight, and the families who have sacrificed for our freedom. Set in the picturesque Amity Community Park, participants can choose to challenge themselves with a 5K run or enjoy a scenic 1-mile walk.
The 5K course features two figure eights around the park trail, offering a hilly yet rewarding experience, while walkers will complete one figure eight. Each participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt, and finishers will be awarded medals as they cross the finish line. With professional timing provided by Bryn Mawr Racing Co., you'll be able to track your performance and celebrate your achievements. Registration is $35 before May 1, and $40 for late entries, so sign up early to secure your spot! Organiser's Description
This event's goal is to bring the community together to remember our service members that have fallen, that are still fighting, and the families of all those that have served and sacrificed in the US Armed Forces, Lest we forget. This event is our Scouts opportunity to show duty to country while raising funds providing the opportunity to help build leadership through the program: I.e., summer camp, equipment, and other program costs.

Awards: Overall and Age Groups, Top 1-3 overall (Women and Men), top 1-3 in each age group, 18 and Under, 19-34, 35-49, 50+
Entry:
$35 / Participant before May 1 after that date no shirt or timing can be guaranteed. $40 Late registration.
Amenities:

Our Scouts practice their youth leadership skills through camping 8-10 times per scout year, community service projects, fundraisers, weekly meetings, and various day activities.
