Share The Road, Remembering Raymond Butler 5K

We will host our 2nd Annual 1k (0.62 miles) and 5k running/walking race, “Share The Road, Remembering Raymond Butler” on June 1, 2024 in Eclectic, AL. The start and finish will be in front of Elmore County High School.
The 5k will start at promptly at 7:45 and the 1k will start as soon as the last 5k participants crosses the finish line which will be approximately 8:45.  If you are unable to attend in person, we offer a virtual race option as well.
Raymond was an avid cyclist, runner, canoeist, and overall athlete even at 74 years of age. He wasriding his bike home from work on August 29, 2022 when 0.3 miles from his home he was struck by a carand succumbed to his massive internal injuries the next day.
Come run or walk with us to remember Raymond and raise awareness that roads are meant to be shared. Bikers havethe same legal right as a vehicle to use the roadway therefore drivers need to watch for them and passwith care. Remember that just one second of distraction can take a life.
