WE ARE TWO DELAWARE OCCUPATIONAL AND SPEECH THERAPISTS WHO ARE PLANNING THE 3RD ANNUAL STROKE AWARENESS 5K RUN/WALK EVENT.
WE HAVE IDENTIFIED A NEED FOR SUPPORT AND AWARENESS IN OUR COMMUNITY FOR STROKE SURVIVORS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS.
OUR HOPE IS TO CONNECT THIS WONDERFUL COMMUNITY WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES AND RESOURCES TO SHED A LIGHT ON THIS IMPORTANT CAUSE.
PROCEEDS FROM THIS RACE WILL GO TOWARDS SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE SUSTAINED A STROKE AND COVERING EXTRANEOUS EXPENSES.
SOME OF THESE COSTS CAN INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT TO IMPROVE SAFETY AND QUALITY OF LIFE, MOBILITY RELATED DME, TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM APPOINTMENTS, SPEECH GENERATING DEVICES, AND THICKENER SECONDARY TO DYSPHAGIA.
