Event summary

Join us for the Soles Walking 4 Souls Virtual Walk-A-Thon, taking place from October 23 to October 31, 2026, in San Antonio, Bexar! This inspiring event encourages participants from all over to walk wherever they are and log their miles in support of Fentanyl Awareness Month. Whether you choose to walk one mile or twenty, you can join your family, friends, or furry companions in a movement that transcends physical boundaries.

This year, we’re shaking things up by hosting a virtual walk, allowing everyone to contribute to a communal mileage goal while raising awareness about the dangers of illicit fentanyl. The event coincides with Red Ribbon Week, the nation's largest drug prevention awareness campaign, amplifying our mission to foster education, recovery, and community support. Best of all, participation is completely free! Register now, create your team, and help us spread the message that every mile matters. Together, let’s walk for those we’ve lost, those still fighting, and for a brighter future!

Organiser's Description

This walk was started in 2023 to commemorate the bill signed by Governor Abbott designating October as Fentanyl Awareness Month in Texas. Since that time, we have hosted three in person Fentanyl Awareness Walks in San Antonio, TX

Well, Were Doing Something Completely Different This Year!

This year, Soles Walking 4 Souls is changing things up! Instead of hosting our traditional in-person walk in San Antonio, were taking our mission beyond one location and inviting people everywhere to walk with us.

From October 2331, 2026, were hosting the Soles Walking 4 Souls Virtual Walk-a-Thon during Red Ribbon Week.

For nine days, participants can walk wherever they are, log their miles, share their stories and photos, create teams, and help us work toward one big community mileage goal.

Walk one mile or walk twenty. Walk around your neighborhood, at a park, on a treadmill, with your family, friends, coworkers, classmates, or your dog. You can walk in memory of someone you love, in honor of someone in recovery, or simply because you believe in raising awareness about the dangers of illicit fentanyl.

Registration is FREE

There is no registration fee to participate. We want everyone who believes in this mission to be able to join us, regardless of where they live.

Participants are encouraged to create their own fundraising page or teamthrough RunSignup and invite friends and family to support their miles. Donations are appreciated but never required to participate.

Every Mile Matters

Throughout the week, participants can log their miles through RunSignup as we work together toward our overall mileage goal.

Whether you walk one mile or walk every day, your miles count.

Each mile represents awareness.

Each mile represents remembrance.

Each mile represents hope.

And together, those miles show families impacted by fentanyl that they are not walking alone.

Make It Your Own

Create a team with your family, workplace, school, organization, recovery community, or group of friends. Walk in your own community and share your photos, signs, stories, and miles throughout the week.

Participants are also encouraged to walk in honor or memory of someone special and share their name and story.

Well be sharing participant photos and stories throughout the event on social media so that even though we may be walking in different cities and states, we can come together as one community with one mission.

Why Red Ribbon Week?

Red Ribbon Week is the nations largest drug prevention awareness campaign. By holding our walk-a-thon during Red Ribbon Week, we hope to bring additional attention to the devastating impact of illicit fentanyl and encourage conversations about prevention, education, recovery, and protecting our communities.

Walk alone.

Walk with your family.

Walk with friends.
