This year the 16th Annual South Portland Food Cupboard and St. Maximilian Kolbe 5K Road Race and Free Kids Fun Run will be on Saturday August 29, 2026. Over the years, this race has raised thousands of dollars for the Food Cupboard which feeds hundreds of families in South Portland and Scarborough. Last year, the race raised $11,000 for the Food Cupboard which helped in providing over 400 families with food for a whole month! Our goal is to raise the same amount or more to help the Food Cupboard. THE FOOD CUPBOARD NEEDS YOU TO SIGN-UP AND RUN or WALK THE RACE!!! All entry fees will go directly to the Food Cupboard. This is a wonderful cause to support and have fun running with us on Saturday August 29, 2026. The entry fee of $30 will buy enough food to feed a family for one month!!!

The race will occur on Saturday August 29, 2026, at St. Max Church (150 Black Point Road in Scarborough Maine). The kid's fun-run will start at 8:30am and the 5K Run/Walk will start at 9am. Online race registration starts May 30th and race day registration will start at 7:30am on August 29th. Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers on August 29th after the race. Medals will be awarded to male and female age group winners.

* Registration (on-line) for the race is $30.
* On-line Registration for the race starts June 1, 2026 and goes through midnight on Wednesday August 26, 2026.
* Day-of registration at the race on August 29th starts at 7:30am and is $35 (or $30 if you bring a food donation for the Food Cupboard).
* NEW: BIB PICK-UP FOR PRE-REGISTERED RUNNERS WILL BE FRIDAY AUGUST 28TH FROM 2-6PM AT COASTAL RUN (6 WESTWOOD AVE, SUITE1 SCARBOROUGH). THIS IS A GREAT RUNNING STORE, AND WE ARE HAPPY THEY ARE HOSTING THE BIB PICK-UP. IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT IN ON FRIDAY, YOUR BIB WILL BE AT THE REGISTRATION TABLE ON SATURDAY MORNING. * NEW: State Farm Insurance - Michelle Raber will have a table set-up for people to donate canned goods and nonperishable food. Bring some canned goods for the Food Cupboard and receive $5 off the Day-of race registration fee. Any donation of food to the State Farm table will get you $5 off the day-of registration price of $35.
* Race T-shirt is included with the $30 fee if you register on or before Friday August 7th, 2026. The race shirt will be very similar to last year's shirt and will feature sponsor logos!
* If your company would like to be a sponsor, please contact Tige Cunningham (tigecunningham@gmail.com). Your company name could be on the shirt for as little as $100 or a logo for a minimum of $150 donation.
* NO DOGS ALLOWED AT THE RACE. Service animals are allowed.
