***PLEASE DON'T "SIGN UP" FOR THE RACE. Instead - please click the "VOLUNTEER" button at the top right hand side of the screen (desktop/laptop) or on the left hand side for a mobile device. This is way more fun than racing - - this is your opportunity to serve as a volunteer at a local event - - to experience all the joys and all the misery involved in running a 100 mile ultra race!
We take an immense amount of pride in the oasis we've created for the runners of this race, this is a TOP 1% Aid Station in the US! You will not only be helping your fellow runners achieve the huge goal of running 100 miles, you'll be representing the Frederick Running Community to runners from all over the country! So bring your positive attitudes and be ready to help make our aid station the talk of the ultra running community!
*We ask that you come dressed appropriately in layers as weather along the Potomac can change. If you plan to take a long shift, a shift over a meal, or several shifts, please bring any special foods/snacks/drinks to keep you hydrated and enjoying your day as well. We have a "tropical theme", so wear something that shows some warm weather vibes. (We'll have leis for the volunteers, but any hats, shirts, or outfits that will remind the runners of sipping cocktails on a beach instead of broth on the canal will be great!)
If you want to have fun (real fun), you'll sign up for the overnight shifts. That's when the magic happens!
