Organiser's Description
Grief and Loss In Motion provides support to those who have lost someone to suicide, as well as Suicide Prevention trainings for the general community, businesses, organizations, clubs, motorcycle clubs, teams and more. We are also the 501c3 home to the Trumbull County LOSS (Local Outreach to Survivors of Suicide loss) Team that is dispatched by the coroners office to the scenes of suicides to provide immediate support to those left behind.
In addition to responding to suicide loss, we have recently begun dispatching to traumatic losses as needed. While we continue to offer suicide loss specific support groups, we also provide grief education and general grief support groups. For individuals seeking a creative component on their grief journey, our makerspace serves to provide Maker:Grief programming and, in the spirit of prevention, we created Maker Empowerment Method programs for metal health awareness, reframing our failures at lessons in learning. We have also recently received funding to begin programming in Mercer and Lawerence counties with our Survivors of Suicide Attempt Support group. All funds stay local to assist in continuing our mission.
