Get ready for a fun-filled day at the 15th Annual Durham Academy Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 16, 2024! Taking place at the Upper School campus in Durham, this exciting event features a certified 5K race that welcomes runners and walkers of all ages, along with a delightful Fun Run for our youngest participants in grades 4 and under. The day kicks off at 9 a.m. with bounce houses, food trucks, and games, making it a perfect outing for families and friends.
At 10 a.m., the competitive 5K race will begin, followed by the Fun Run at 11 a.m., where kids will dash around the track in hopes of catching the elusive turkey! Enjoy food truck treats and field activities until noon, and remember to register by November 13th to secure your spot and a complimentary t-shirt if you're participating in the 5K. Winner Winner Turkey Dinner! The turkeys are back for DA's 15th Annual Turkey Trot! Join us at the Upper School campus for a 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024. This in-person event includes a competitive 5K open to runners and walkers of all ages and a Fun Run event for all our trotters in grades 4 and under. Our 5K is USA Track & Field-certified with chip timing for immediate results. Friends, family and members of the Durham Academy community are encouraged to join us for a morning of exercise, food truck treats, and field activities!
Registrants prior to Friday, Nov. 1st will receive a t-shirt which is included as part of the race fee for 5k participants. Fun Run participants can purchase a t-shirt for a fee. Registration closes at midnight on Nov. 13th. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO SAME DAY REGISTRATION. Prizes will be awarded for division top runners. Please leave your four-legged friends at home.
Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run: Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024

* 10 a.m.: 5K race start time, meet in front of the Lower School
* 11 a.m.: Fun Run kicks off - kids grades PK-4th are divided into grade-level heats on the Upper School track for the chance to catch the turkey before it makes it around the Upper School track
* Until 12 p.m. closing: Enjoy food trucks and field activities for the whole family; dont forget to bring cash or credit card for special treats
