Join us for the Valley View Mike Donahue Memorial 5 Miler on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the beautiful Hydaway Outdoor Center in Lynchburg, Campbell. This exciting trail race is part of the Fall Liberty Mountain Trail Series, featuring a challenging 5-mile course that winds through single-track trails and mountain roads along the stunning Liberty Mountain Trail System. In honor of Major Mike Donahue and his significant contributions to the community, this event not only celebrates athleticism but also pays tribute to those who serve in the military.
The race kicks off at 9 A.M., preceded by a special Pre-Race Ceremony at 8:40 A.M. Participants can pick up their race packets on November 8 at LaHaye Rotunda or on race day from 8 to 8:45 A.M. Runners will receive a guaranteed event t-shirt if registered by October 31, and awards will be presented to the top performers in various categories. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race option allows participants to complete their 5-mile run anywhere between November 3 and November 9. Campus Recreation is proud to present the Valley View Mike Donahue Memorial 5 Miler hosted at Hydaway Outdoor Center on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The 5 Mile trail race is the 2nd race in the Fall Liberty Mountain Trail Series. The course is run on single track trails and mountain roads along the Liberty Mountain Trail System.
This race is a partnership with the Liberty University Military Affairs department to show all our support to those who serve. In memory of Major Mike Donahue, the event is specifically meant to honor and remember this man who made such a positive impact in the community and at Liberty University.

PACKET PICKUP | November 8 LaHaye Rotunda from Noon-6 P.M. | November 9 Hydaway from 8-8:45 A.M. (before the race)
T-SHIRT | Featured giveaway t-shirt is guaranteed before Oct 31st registration. A limited number of extra shirts will be available on a first-come basis at packet pickup.
AWARDS | Awards will be given to the top 3 male & female overall winners, top 3 male & female in each age group, and top male & female masters (>40 years of age) overall winners. Overall awards will be ranked by gun time, age group awards will be ranked on chip time.
Door prizes will also be given out throughout the event.

Those who would like to participate can register and will run their 5miler during the specified dates. Once you run your distance, there will be an opportunity to submit the time via Runsignup.
THERE WILL BE SHIRTS, RIGHT?
Of course! We have to have race swag, and this event will be a little different, just like the race. If you register by Oct 31st, you will still get a shirt but it won't be able to be delivered to you before the event date. Shirts will be mailed out the week after the race.
WHEN CAN I COMPLETE MY RUN?
Any time between November 3 and November 9.

You can run anywhere youd like! Encourage friends from around the country, even globe, to participate with you in this special military appreciation event.

Please be responsible and respect all directions by the parks department or other local officials where you choose to run. You are operating as an individual while you complete this run.
