Join us for the 28th Annual YMCA Livestrong 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Edison, Middlesex! This vibrant event not only celebrates community spirit but also supports a meaningful cause—helping cancer survivors regain their strength and confidence through the Livestrong at the YMCA program. The race kicks off at 8:30 AM with a shotgun start for runners, followed by walkers shortly after. Participants will enjoy a fun-filled morning featuring registration from 7:30 AM, where they can pick up their bibs and t-shirts, indulge in delicious bagels and snacks, and partake in entertaining activities like Zumba, DJ music, and inflatable games for both kids and adults.
Medals will be awarded to the top three overall finishers in each gender category, as well as to the top three competitors in various age brackets ranging from under 10 to 80+. Additionally, special fundraising awards will recognize outstanding efforts from teams and individual fundraisers. This event, held in memory of Janice Garbolino, a beloved Health & Wellness Director, promises to be an inspiring day filled with camaraderie and support. Funds raised support the Livestrong at the YMCA which is a program offered for cancer survivors at no cost to them to help them recover and regain their strength, confidence and so much more. See below for more information or call us if you want to participate in our next program offering.
7:30 AM - REGISTRATION
Bib and T-shirt Pick Up (T-shirts are not guaranteed and are no longer available for day-of registrants)
Bagels, Bananas and Snacks

Inflatable Games for kids and adults
If you have pre-registered and have picked up your bib and t-shirt ahead of time, there is no need to check in on race day.
Pre-registration T-shirts are on a first-come, first-serve basis. T-shirts are not guaranteed for day-of registrations.

_The YMCA 5K Run and Fun Walk is held in memory of Janice Garbolino, former Health & Wellness Director of the Metuchen Branch YMCA, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2002. The annual 5K run/walk supports the YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge, and South Amboy in providing a free exercise program for cancer survivors called LIVESTRONG at the YMCA which assists those who are living with, through, or beyond cancer to strengthen their bodies, minds, and spirits. _
