This exciting event is part of Global Running Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the joy of running and the spirit of community. Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in either the 5K Fun Run at 6:30 AM or the 5K Timed Run at 7:00 PM, both starting at The Cove, located at 11808 S Northshore Dr.
Get ready for an invigorating experience as you run along the greenway, enjoying the scenic views and camaraderie of fellow participants. Not only will you have the chance to cross the finish line and earn a coveted finisher medal that will surely make your friends envious, but you'll also be supporting a great cause, as proceeds benefit the Knox County Parks and Rec Youth Scholarship Program. ON JUNE 4, WE RUN TOGETHER.
Global Running Day is our holiday; a celebration of the activity we love and the sport that brings our community together. Were inviting all runners and walkers to join us on June 4th to mark the occasion, set a goal and cross the finish line. We encourage you to bring your family, friends, and neighbors.
We want to see the whole community participate because, seriously, running together rocks. What you can expect:
* It's on a Wednesdaywho couldn't use a mid-week pump-up?
* Finisher medals. Not just any medal. A very cool, make-your-friends-jealous medal (see image below).
* Proceeds benefit the Knox County Parks and Rec Youth Scholarship Program. This program provides financial assistance to Knox County youths that would otherwise not be able to participate in Knox County youth sports program.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course starts at the Cove and runs out and back on the greenway. We will run past the bridge and the new section under Northshore Dr to a turnaround point.
