Get ready for an exciting day of community spirit and athletic fun at the inaugural Bob Young Memorial 5k, scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024, in Steubenville, Jefferson! This uplifting event honors the legacy of Bob Young, the founder of the Steuben Striders Track Club, which has been dedicated to promoting positive sporting activities for the youth of the Ohio Valley since 1973. Participants can choose from a variety of race distances, including a 5k run, 5k walk, 1 mile run, 1 mile walk, and even a Kids Fun Run, ensuring there's something for everyone—leashed dogs, playful kids, and energetic teens are all welcome to join in the festivities!
Though the event has been cancelled, the spirit of community and commitment to youth sports remains strong. All proceeds from the Bob Young Memorial 5k would have gone to support the Steuben Striders Track Club, continuing Bob's mission to inspire and engage the next generation of athletes. We appreciate your understanding and hope to see you at future events!

Leashed Dogos, Playful Kiddos, and Rambunctious Teenagers (and more!) are all encouraged to come and get all their energy out at any of our events for the day: 5k run, 5k walk, 1 mile run, 1 mile walk, and Kids Fun Run! All proceeds of this 5k will go towards the Steuben Striders Track Club

CLOSEDDay-of check-in is from 7:30am - 8:45am For all Strollers, Seniors, and Dog-Walkers! (And anyone else!) Come out and enjoy a beautiful day by taking a walking tour of Downtown Steubenville! Walkers will pass by their favorite stores and downtown sites while enjoying the company of those around them! Walkers receive different awards than the runners and are not eligible for "Overall Male/Female" awards. Anyone 6 and under is free and they must be with their parent/legal guardian at all times. Do note: If a contestant takes more than 1.5 hours to complete the 5k walk, we cannot guarantee that s/he will be present for the awards ceremony for the other athletes. We will try our best to let all of the contestants finish their walk before we start. -

CLOSEDDay-of check-in is from 7:30am - 8:40am Any tiny tot 6 years old and younger is welcome to run our 50 meter Toddler Dash! This race will be done on the grass in front of the Historic Fort Steuben to ensure that if any little one falls, they will not scraped their knee on the street. Parents are welcome to walk/run aside their tiny ones who need help walking.
