Join us for the 8th Annual Bull Run for ALS of Michigan on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the beautiful Kensington Metro Park in Milford, Oakland. This heartwarming event features a chip-timed 5K run/walk and a free Calf Mile for kids aged 10 and under, making it a perfect outing for families and friends alike. All proceeds from the event will support ALS of Michigan, directly benefiting individuals living with ALS in our community.
The 5K course, which winds along a scenic paved pathway, is designed for runners of all levels, with some hills to keep things interesting. Participants will start at Martindale Beach and enjoy a unique finish line experience as they cross home plate, symbolizing a home run for our pALS. Each registered runner will receive a commemorative finishers medal, honoring the legacy of Kenneth C. VanBlaricum, the event's namesake and a dedicated National Guard member. With an upbeat atmosphere and a shared mission to raise awareness for ALS, the Bull Run promises to be an inspiring day filled with community spirit. Don’t miss out on this meaningful and fun event!

THE BULL RUN FOR ALS OF MICHIGAN - MILFORD / KENSINGTON METRO PARK - RACE PAGE
This is the 8TH ANNUAL BULL RUN FOR ALS OF MICHIGAN HELD AT KENSINGTON PARK IN MILFORD, MICHIGAN. The Bull Run 5K is a chip timed accurate 5k run/walk. The Calf Mile is FREE for kids 10yrs and under. All proceeds go to ALS of Michigan to help our pALS (people with ALS) here in Michigan.
There is a lot of symbolism in The Bull Run. First the name, my dad, Kenneth C. VanBlaricum passed from ALS in Feb. 2010 and early in his life he worked in excavating, his nickname was Bull. The Bull Run is named in honor of my father. Second, the finishers medal is a dog tag honoring the time he served in the National Guard out of the Howell Armory and was called into active duty during the 1967 riots in Detroit. The start/finish line is on the ball diamond. You will run by first base, which is the position played by Lou Gehrig, and as you finish the race you cross home plate scoring a home run for our pALS(people with ALS) here in Michigan.
This run continues to be a dream come true to honor my father. Thank you for being a part of it.

PRICING: 5k run/walk $40 until 9/06, $45 9/07 to 9/26, $50 race day. Calf Mile is FREE for ages 10 and under. No shirt option for $5 less. Online registration only.
RACE SWAG: Finishers medal is included with registration, performance tee available through September 6th. No shirt option for $5 less.
COURSE: The 5K course has some hills and is an out and back on a paved pathway. This 5K starts at Martindale Beach/Water Park and runs out to the Milford connector circle and back.

RESULTS: Results will be live during the event and full results will be posted on this Run Signup page. The race will be professionally timed by the MICHIGAN RUNNING FOUNDATION.
