Join us for an exciting weekend of running and community spirit at The Homer Races, featuring the Homer Classic 5K and the thrilling Homer Parade Mile! This brand new event takes place in the charming town of Silverton, Marion, on Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9, 2026. Kick off the festivities by leading the Homer Davenport Community Festival Parade with the Parade Mile on Saturday morning. Runners will take to the streets of downtown Silverton, starting on North Water St. near Silverton Middle School and finishing just past Roth's Fresh Market on North First St., cheered on by enthusiastic spectators along the route.
On Sunday, lace up your running shoes for the Homer Classic 5K, beginning and ending at Silverton High School on Pine St. This scenic race features a flat and fast course, including a beautiful stretch through the Historic Gallon House Bridge, the only covered bridge in Marion County. Registration for the Parade Mile is just $5 for ages 0-12 and $10 for runners over 13, while the 5K registration is $25 until May 1, with prices increasing leading up to race day. LEAD THE HOMER DAVENPORT COMMUNITY FESTIVAL PARADE! The Homer Parade Mile is Saturday morning, August 8. Runners will "lead" the parade by running the parade route through downtown Silverton, being cheered by the thousands of people lining the parade route.
The start will be on North Water St. near Silverton Middle School and finish just past Roth's Fresh Market on North First St.
Combine The Homer Parade Mile with the Homer's Classic 5k on Sunday to see who is the overall mile/5k winner.
Here are the Homer Davenport Community Festival Race options:
1 MILE RUN: Saturday, August 8, 9:45am start time.
Runners ages 0-12, $5
Runners over 13, $10
Day of registration ends at 9:15am.
5K RUN: Sunday, August 9, 9:00am start time.
$25 until May 1: $30 May 1 - July 31(online registration ends at 5:00pm) : $35 day of race.
DO THE DUO, 1MILE/5K RUNS: Run the Mile on Saturday, the 8k on Sunday.
Pre-register for both events and save $5 on registration.
T-shirts, $ 15 extra. Register before July 14 to be guaranteed a shirt.
Race packets are available day of race.

The races are organized by the Silverton Runners' Club. Proceeds go to support the Silverton, Gervais and Mt. Angel schools' track and cross country programs, scholarships for youth runners to attend running camps, and other local fitness activities.
No dogs or motorized vehicles permitted.
