Taking place in the heart of Princeton, Bureau, this exciting road race features a certified course along the historic Main Street, kicking off at the iconic Apollo Theater and wrapping up at Rotary Park. Participants can look forward to a straight, fully paved route that is perfect for chasing personal bests.
The Princeton Mile includes two fantastic races. The first race showcases elite runners competing for a $1,000 prize, with male competitors aiming for under 5 minutes and female competitors under 6 minutes. The second race invites everyone to join in the fun, with all finishers receiving a complimentary donut from Miss Betsy’s Donuts and the chance to enjoy a variety of activities at the nearby Shrimpfest. Runners will also benefit from complimentary assisted stretching and body scans provided by Anytime Fitness of Princeton. With awards for the top three male and female finishers in various age groups announced at Shrimpfest, this family-friendly event promises to be a perfect way to celebrate fitness, community, and the vibrant atmosphere of Princeton. Come join us on Saturday, June 6th for the 2nd Annual "Princeton Mile" road race!

The race will take place on Princetons historic Main Street, starting at the Apollo Theater and ending at Rotary Park, just in time to enjoy live music, food and drinks at Shrimpfest.
The course is a straight line, fully paved city street. If you are looking to set a personal best time for a mile, this would be the place to do it. The course has been certified and the race will be chip timed. The first race will feature elite runners who will be competing for a $1000 prize which will be awarded to the first male and female finisher. In order to participate in this race, male runners must be able to run a mile under 5 minutes and female runners must be able to run a mile under 6 minutes. The second race is open to anyone wishing to run and have fun. All runners crossing the finish line will receive a complimentary donut courtesy of Miss Betsys Donuts. Anytime Fitness of Princeton will also offer complimentary assisted stretching and body scans at the end of the race.
All paid entrants will receive a race bib/chip and a Princeton Mile t-shirt designed and printed by local Chamber members. Awards will be announced on the stage at Shrimpfest immediately following the completion of the second race. For those traveling from Chicago or the suburbs, Princeton has an Amtrak station. The start time of the race will allow for those taking the train from the city and suburbs ample time to jog to the starting line before the races begin. The race finishes at Rotary Park which is adjacent to the Amtrak station.
