Tidewater Striders 2024 Distance Series # 3- 12 Mile and 20 Mile Events

EVENT OVERVIEW:  
12 Mile   20 Mile      Saturday, February 24, 2024 8:30 AM At Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Rest stop at Mile Post 4, Chesapeake.
Race Courses:
Begin and finish at the entrance to the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Rest Stop at mile post 4, Chesapeake, VA 23323 and will be an out back.  Everyone will run/walk 6 miles and turn around.  20 milers will come across the timing mats and go out for 4 miles and turnaround and head back to the finish line.  This is a chipped time race starting at 8:30 A.M. Finish line closure is based on a 15 minute per mile and will close at 1:30 .  Early starts for walkers/slow runners  for  20 milers ONLY may be arranged by contacting jphelanrungmail.com.
After Race Parties:
Post race party will be at Big Woodys, 123 North Battlefield Blvd.  Chesapeake
 
Directions: 
Dismal Swamp Canal Trail:, Trail Start,  Old Route 17 and George Washington Hwy, Chesapeake, VA 23323 just off Rt 17. GPS tracking is Rest Stop at Mile Post 4, Chesapeake, VA. 
            
Inclement Weather:  The Race Director and the Tidewater Striders reserve the right to cancel or reschedule or adjust distances as needed in the interest of safety or access restrictions to the venue.  
Registration closes at 11:59 PM the Friday before each event.  You may pick up your race number starting at 7:15 to 8:20 AM race morning at the start/finish line.  Early packet pickup will be at Running Etc., Hilltop Location the Friday before each event starting at 4:00 to 6:00.
 
Distance Series 3 is a Strider Grand Prix
